'Marriage is not an achievement, having children is not an achievement' — Actress Etinosa Idemudia

Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has shared her perspective on success, marriage, and personal growth, saying that getting married or having children should not be seen as the ultimate measure of achievement.

Speaking in a recent interview, the actress stressed that success is not determined by hard work alone, noting that grace and divine timing also play significant roles in a person's journey.

"The difference between successful actors and not successful actors… I feel like it's grace. Hard work is part of it, but I can never say hard work is all of it," she said.

Etinosa also spoke about the values she hopes to pass on to her future daughter, emphasizing the importance of self-respect and self-worth.

"If I don't teach my daughter anything, I will teach her how to respect herself, how to value herself," she said, adding that a woman who values herself is less likely to tolerate or attract disrespect from others.

Addressing gender dynamics, the actress argued that society often judges women more harshly than men. She claimed that successful women are frequently labelled with derogatory names, while men who engage in similar behaviour to advance their careers often escape the same level of criticism.

She further encouraged women to avoid comparing themselves with others or allowing jealousy to take root. Instead, she urged them to draw inspiration from other women's achievements and remain focused on their own growth.
